When the school year resumes this week many high school students and staff members will likely see a familiar face; Phil Scott is on board, working to set up community internship opportunities for high school students! Although the position is new to the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Scott is not; he has worked for PCSC for nearly nine years. He was first hired as a computer technology specialist in September of 2008 and according to PCSC Human Resources, in 2011 he became a social studies teacher; both of these positions were at Lincoln Junior High School. His duties at the junior high also encompassed TV broadcasting production, and he worked daily with 7th and 8th grade PTV2 students in a hands-on fashion teaching them the ropes of how to produce a daily TV show that airs throughout Lincoln Jr. High. Scott is now the Internship Coordinator for both Plymouth High School and for the PBL Project Based Learning High School, which is located within PHS and is called the Weidner School of Inquiry, also known as WSOI. “I am truly excited about both the opportunity this will present to our kids partnering with the community, and the personal challenge it presents me”, Scott stated.
